Our Services

Established in 1988, Mader Engineering, Inc. has been providing state of the art engineering services to the greater Acadiana area for over three decades. With years of combined experience in environmental and water resources engineering, arterial roadway and highway design, municipal engineering services, land surveying, drainage improvements, subdivisions and land development, litigation consultation, and recreational facility improvements, our staff offers the best combination of on the job know-how and engineering technology. Our clients range from municipalities to schools and from businesses to individuals, and we bring the same attention to detail and professionalism to every task, large and small.

Environmental and Water Resources Engineering

Our extensive experience in permitting, designing, and maintaining potable water treatment and distribution systems, wastewater collection and treatment facilities, as well as solid waste landfills applies to the needs of both public and private clients. The regulatory and permitting process for such environmental and water resources type projects can be harrowing, but our staff has the knowledge of and good standing with the various regulatory agencies needed to provide such services efficiently and effectively.

Highways, Arterial Streets, Road Design

Having completed numerous roadway projects for clients such as the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, Lafayette Consolidated Government, the City of Crowley, the City of Rayne, and the Acadia Parish Police Jury, to name a few, our experience in both small and large scale roadway design and construction projects has diversified us in our capabilities to provide such design services to both public and private clients.

Having the staff and resources to provide in-house land surveying and drafting services, as well as having a good working relationship with local geotechnical, electrical, and structural engineers, we are able to provide our clients with complete, efficient, cost-effective, and quality roadway design services.

Municipal Engineers

Being the City or Town Engineers for numerous municipalities in the greater Acadiana area (some since as early as 1988), we have vast experience in services related to public works and addressing the needs and concerns of the general public. This experience in the public sector has enabled us to have a unique perspective in providing services for the private sector.

We fully understand and know what municipalities expect, and we fully understand and know what private clients expect. As a result, we know from the early stages of a project what direction a project needs to take in order to satisfy the needs of both entities.

Land Surveying

From topographical and boundary surveys to construction staking, Mader Engineering, Inc. can provide our clients the data and information required quickly and accurately. Our state of the art equipment combined with an expertise in traditional surveying methods enables our staff to tackle any project, big or small, with uniform attention and professionalism.

Drainage Improvements

Mader Engineering, Inc.'s staff utilizes the latest computer software programs to provide our clients with efficient and reliable hydraulic and hydrologic analyses, modeling, and design.

Whether the project involves open channel or subsurface drainage systems, culvert design for small ditches, large drainage channels, or stormwater detention facilities for commercial or residential developments, we can provide the needed consultation and design at a fair cost.

Subdivisions and Development

Because of our vast experience with private developers and as municipal engineers for several cities and towns in the greater Acadiana area, we know what municipalities expect when it comes to both residential and commercial developments.

We currently serve as the subdivision review agent for several of our municipal clients, and have aided many private developers in bringing their projects from conception to completion. This blend of experience yields a unique perspective on the development process, and as a result we can immediately establish a common ground between what municipalities expect and what private developers want.

Litigation Consultation

Our diverse experience enables us to offer exceptional services to the legal community through our ability to provide litigation consultation and expert witness testimony. We have utilized our capabilities in land surveying, drafting, and engineering analyses to represent the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development in countless expropriation lawsuits, to represent individuals of the private sector in drainage and construction lawsuits as well as boundary disputes, and to represent other public entities in lawsuits requiring forensic analyses.

We are uniquely experienced in the interpretation of the meteorological aspects of hydrologic and hydraulic principals as applied to drainage litigation. Our familiarity with and ability to apply radar derived rainfall and other weather data to very specific locations has served very well in helping to make cases for both defendants and claimants. Such services allowed us to represent several New Orleans businesses in lawsuits against insurance companies that refused to honor Hurricane Katrina-related claims, as well as to reconstruct rain and flooding events for automobile accident claims.

Exhaustive preparation for and calm confidence in depositions and on the witness stand help secure success for our clients time after time.

Recreational Facility Improvements

We personally love sports and recreation, and this love has translated to our passion for providing land surveying and engineering services for recreational facilities. From drainage design to consultation regarding recreational lighting, artificial turf design, field layouts for baseball, softball, tennis, soccer, football, track and field facilities, to sidewalk systems and parking lot layouts for any facility, we can provide both public and private organizations with the tools they need to create safe, functional, and practical recreational and athletic facilities.

Funding Applications and Grant and Loan Administration

In representing numerous municipalities for engineering related services we have also accrued years of experience in grant writing and grant administration in an effort to provide these communities with the funds needed for infrastructure improvement and economic development. We have worked closely with the Louisiana Division of Administration Capital Outlay Office, the Louisiana Division of Administration Office of Community Development, as well as administered many grants such as the Recreational Trails Improvement Program, Land and Water Conservation Fund, Governor's Office of Rural Development, Off-System Bridge Replacement Program, Local Government Assistance Program, Louisiana Road Safety Program, Community Water Enrichment Fund, and LaDOTD's Transportation Alternatives Program. Our extensive working relationships with these important governmental agencies help us get our clients the funding their projects need.
